Small Plate Etchings
These four Intaglio prints embody four of the many stages of grief: depression, acceptance, bargaining, and anger. Intaglio prints are made by etching copper plates in ferric chloride, then inking and printing the plate onto paper. The methods I used were deep bite, marbling, hard ground, and soft ground. Each of the plates I made incorporates one of these techniques, which I manipulated to express a specific emotion.
